Painting beautiful paintings is a way for the painter and the observer to escape for a moment from the distractions of material and commonplace things of life. Hopefully, my paintings will bring peace to the mind and relaxation to the body.
I have chosen oil paint as my medium because I like the dimensional and tactile quality of it. I have chosen the landscape of Utah as my subject not only because I live here., but because I admire the beauty and diversity of it. I have also chosen to paint outdoors because of the opportunity to really experience the land, the people and nature. I like being out in the sun, snow, heat and the cold. (not wind or bugs)
